- Door-to-door journey:Compare the journey from your Hong Kong departure point to the port, through immigration, onward transport in Shenzhen and the final walk.
- Travelling companions:When you are elderly, have young children or are carrying luggage, the number of transfers and walking distance may be more important than the driving distance.
- Return:First confirm the last transportation and port opening times to avoid planning only the outbound journey.
- Fare:Compare Hong Kong transport, cross-boundary tickets, Shenzhen transport and any surcharges.

The new Huanggang Port opened on 12 October 2026 and provides immigration clearance for passengers and passenger vehicles 24 hours a day. What is the difference between Luohu and Futian Ports?
The two connect to different terminals of the East Rail Line respectively, and the Shenzhen end connection and destination direction are also different. The complete route and departure time should be compared, not just the crossing time.
Is the high-speed rail definitely faster than the MTR?
Not necessarily. The shorter travel time of the High Speed Rail does not mean that the entire door-to-door journey is shorter; the time to West Kowloon Station, arrival at the station and clearance time must also be calculated.
Are port opening hours equal to transportation service hours?
No. The port, Hong Kong feeder transportation and Shenzhen terminal transportation have their own service hours, which must be confirmed individually.
