Address changes and first-month costs
The Government’s Change of Address service covers participating government departments. Banks, insurers, employers and private services may still require separate updates. Make a list and keep each confirmation.
Budget separately for mover fees, rent or management charges, utility deposits where applicable, broadband setup, cleaning, repairs and basic household items. Allow for overlapping bills if the handover dates differ.
